Kanjeevaram Vintage Recreation: 19 - Recreation of an older Kanjeevaram saree is not just weaving and delivering the saree, its a very special project for us where in we analyse the older weave techniques and the colour codes and decode them with a very high precision in a way we call this as “Memories Re-woven”. This saree comes with an amazing Vairaoosi weave which is represented in the wave pattern paired with Korvai Border and Pallu woven with rich Rudraksh motif theme which comes dark Kanchana colour. Body colour is stunning vintage Orange (deep Gold-spot orange), the colour code which can’t be found in the present generation colour books. We were successful in weaving the replica of the saree matching the design, weave and colour code
Saree care instructions
- Always maintain your silk saree in the cotton pouch provided or wrap the saree in a white cotton cloth
- At least twice in a month open the saree, change the folding to avoid the greases
- Do not dry clean the saree as the starch will damage the nature of the fabric
- Use silica gel packets or dried neem leaves in the wardrobe to absorb moisture and repel insects
- Use low heat and iron on the reverse side, ideally placing a cotton cloth between the iron and the silk
- Spray perfumes, hairsprays, or deodorants on the body, not directly on the silk, as they can cause permanent stains
- Be careful with sharp jewelry that can snag the fabric
- Do not hang for long periods, as it can cause stretching or creases; use padded hangers if necessary
