Handloom is our Heartloom — Vastram kaadu, Varasatvam

(It's not just cloth, it's a legacy)

The Legacy: A Century of Woven Stories

Our Roots: The Heartbeat of Dharmavaram

The story of JYVS Handloom Store begins nearly a century ago in the historic town of Dharmavaram, Andhra Pradesh. For four generations, our family—starting with the foundation of Sree Vasavi Silk Palace—has been the custodian of an ancient art. Our ancestors didn't just weave fabric; they engineered heirlooms using design philosophies and heritage elements inspired by the carvings of our ancient temples.

Our Mission: Reviving the "Heartloom"

In a world increasingly dominated by fast fashion and power-loom imitations, we stood as a voice for the voiceless artisan. Founded by Naresh Kumar and Jyothi Yasala, JYVS (Jyothi Yasala & Vasavi Silks) was born from a singular mission: to bring the uncompromising quality of Dharmavaram directly to the connoisseur, bypassing the middlemen who often dilute the soul of the craft.

We are not just sellers; we are weavers. When you visit our Hyderabad store, you don't just see sarees—you hear the rhythmic thud-thud of a live handloom, a reminder that every thread in our store has been guided by human hands.

Our Philosophy: Education Over Sale

We believe in providing transparency right from procuring silk yarn to weaving a pure Kanjeevaram silk saree. That is why our journey has been as much about education as it has been about weaving. From exposing the intricacies of "fake silk" scams to explaining the science of metal extraction in pure zari, we pull back the curtain on the weaving industry. Whether it is our signature Vintage collection or our research in reviving forgotten weaving techniques, we ensure that every JYVS saree is a masterclass in authenticity.

The Future: Weaving a Sustainable Legacy

As we move into 2026, our looms are expanding. We are bridging the gap between the heavy silk traditions of the past and the contemporary needs of the future. By researching and learning forgotten weaves and integrating them with contemporary motifs woven with modern colour combinations, we are creating a new design language for the modern Indian woman.

At JYVS, you aren't just buying a saree. You are becoming a part of a 90-year-old lineage that values the planet, the artisan, and the timeless elegance of a hand-woven dream.
